The Chuck II is less than a year old, but the first-ever substantive update to Converse’s iconic Chuck Taylor All Star has already established itself as a bonafide modern classic. Hell, the initial release was surrounded by so much (well-deserved) buzz that it sold out overnight—no easy feat for a shoe rooted in a century-old design.
Since that first drop of white, black, red, and blue Chuck II’s, we’ve been treated to a few more colors—including a fall release with subdued gray and burgundy hues—and a limited-edition marble print with a bit of a tie-dye vibe. But this week marks the first time the sneaker gets the full-on graphic-print treatment. The new Chuck II reflective-print collection takes Converse’s popular camo and stars motifs and ups the utility with a light-catching fabrication that’ll increase your visibility in dim situations. All the better for staying safe on those nighttime strolls (or standing out in a crowd).
The camo print is available in stores and online this Thursday and retails for $80-85 (the stars print will release in April). Judging by past experience, you can expect the new shoes to move off the shelves quickly. If you’re in the market for a pair, you might want to mark your calendar.
