Paul Feig has had it up to here with the “tyranny of the casual.” The powerhouse director/producer behind Bridesmaids and 2016’s Ghostbusters reboot famously wears a suit to set every day, and now he’s hoping to turn the sweatpants tide with a tailoring line from J.Crew.

The suits, shirts, and accessories on offer cross J. Crew’s workhorse basics (sturdy wool tailoring in just-slim-enough cuts, gingham shirts) with a dash of Feig’s showman style (Prince of Wales check, graphic silk pocket squares). “This line is all about taking a great suit, then putting your personality into it,” he says. “There’s something playful about it that says, ‘I’m in control of this look.’ ”

J.Crew and Paul Feig Want to Put You in a New Suit

Feig is a self-described “wrinkle chaser”—not a gerontophile, but a guy who will visit a tailor five times to get things just right. Even if you’re not quite so exacting, it helps to know J. Crew offers tailoring services at all of its stores. So buy up, then find the perfect fit. We just can’t promise Feig will be wielding the shears.
