A man should have a bar.
And no…. we’re not talking about having a few cold ones in your fridge and a half bottle of Vodka in the freezer. That’s for college kids who haven’t quite figured things out yet.
A man needs a selection of alcohol and some nice glasses to serve his guests something befitting of a host. Part of the problem is that we don’t know the staples we should keep in house, well, one of those “musts” is a drink you may not usually reach for when you are at the bar…. Gin.
Here are a couple more for those holiday moments when you would like to impress the father in law, the doubtful future sister in law or the new girl meeting your family.
The Basil Smash
This drink brings a little something extra to the unique aromas of gin with very little effort, it may seem a little like a summer drink but a crisp cocktail like this before the heavy meal rolls in will be a nice contrast to the bounty of red wines and heavy brown boozes that will land in your lap.
The Red Snapper
This is what you bring with you to the brunch game on Christmas. Forget the traditional Bloody Mary…. that’s what everyone does. It is just another opportunity to add your own distinct vibe to your hosting universe, and it does not look pretentious…. It looks original.
So mix carefully and make them count.
